The countdown has officially begun to 100% Design Africa, set to illuminate the Sandton Convention Centre from 24 to 27 July. Co-located with Decorex Joburg and organised by RX, this flagship design and lifestyle event will draw together a robust array of talents from across the globe, blending contemporary design with a rich tapestry of cultural craftsmanship.

This four-day showcase promises to offer an expansive view of the design world, anchored by four carefully curated pavilions—Local, International, Materials, and the Capitec handmadeAFRICA Pavilion—each providing a unique perspective on innovation and creativity in design.

Capitec handmadeAFRICA Pavilion: A showcase of African luxury

Among the highlights, the Capitec handmadeAFRICA Pavilion will feature ten outstanding brands from the African continent, spotlighting exceptional craftsmanship with an emphasis on high-end luxury, heritage, and forward-thinking design. Guests can expect to see designs from Morocco, Botswana, and South Africa, celebrating a pan-African approach to creativity.

Local Design Pavilion: Celebrating South African ingenuity

This year’s Local Design Pavilion will celebrate the inventive spirit of South African designers. Noteworthy examples include:

Casamento showcasing ‘The Field’, a cozy armchair-and-ottoman set influenced by traditional handweaving techniques from Swaziland.

Ananta Design Studio’s striking Purna collection, featuring ornate beaded vases that capture the essence of abundance.

A collaboration between Han + NISH will introduce the OLIO Wall Sconce, an example of minimalist lighting design.

The playful Smiley Pendant by Mash .T Design Studio, a nostalgic reimagining of a beaded design.

Clout/SA teams up with the Nando’s Hot Young Designer programme to unveil the Clout/SA Thread Collection, featuring unique upholstery designs.

Wolkberg Casting Studios will display their pioneering concrete-based material, Limesite, revolutionising the field of interior design.
